Operating Tips
The Athena Pelvic Floor Exerciser is very reliable and should give you years of service. However, in case you are experiencing difficulties here are some troubleshooting tips.
Using for the first time
-
Set the intensity dial to 1, and the switch to either 12.5 Hz (for urge incontinence) or 50 Hz (for stress incontinence) depending on your condition. (For mixed incontinence set the switch for 12.5Hz in the morning and 50Hz in the evening.)
-
Remove the trainer from the cradle. The light should flash yellow.
If the light is not flashing double check that the batteries are inserted correctly and they are new batteries. Place the trainer back into the wireless controller and remove it again. If the batteries are inserted correctly the light should flash yellow. If the light still is not flashing when the trainer is removed please call our customer service number 0800 612 6749 for more information.
-
Insert the trainer vaginally and press the green “Start” button. The light should switch to solid yellow.
If the light does not turn yellow it means the trainer has been removed from the cradle for too long and the exerciser will not deliver the stimulation. If this happens and the light is still flashing remove the trainer clean it off with soap and water, dry it and replace it in the cradle. Wait 5 seconds and then repeat the above steps.
-
After a few seconds the light should turn green. If you can not feel the stimulation turn the dial 1 or 2 clicks and wait for the light to turn from yellow to green. Continue to increase the stimulation until you feel a flutter or contraction.
-
At the end of your 15 minute session the trainer will automatically turn off and the LED will go out.
-
Remove the trainer and wash it with the Athena cleanser or with soap and water and then dry it before returning it to the cradle.
If you do not return the trainer to the cradle the LED will start blinking to remind you to do that. It is important to store the Trainer in the cradle to increase the battery life in the trainer.

-

Test 2 – To feel the stimulation in your arm
This test is to reassure you that the trainer is working properly and responding to the wireless controller
-
Set the intensity dial to a medium setting e.g. 10 to 15, remove the trainer from the cradle and press the green start button.
-
Moisten the crook of your arm and hold the trainer there until you feel a tingling sensation (It should take at least 1 minute before you feel the stimulation).
-
If you do not feel the stimulation after the light has changed to green, slowly increase the intensity, pausing between each adjustment until you feel the sensation. If necessary, move the trainer about in the crook of your arm until you feel the sensation.
